“Dawa” […] the motivation behind the drive to build the “Ground Zero” mosque in Manhattan.
[….] As Andrew McCarthy, the former U.S. prosecutor who put the “blind sheik” and his allies in prison for their part in the 1983 World Trade Center garage bombing, puts it this way: “Dawa, whether done from the rubble of the World Trade Center or elsewhere, is the missionary work by which Islam is spread...The purpose of dawa, like the purpose of jihad, is to implement, spread and defend sharia.”

Imam Rauf, now on a U.S. State Department-sponsored “good will” tour of Muslim countries, is widely considered to be an example of “moderate” Islam; however, among his more memorable quotations are these:
- …United States policies were an accessory to the crime (9/11) that occurred.
- …the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al Qaida has on its hands of innocent non-Muslims. You may remember that the US-led sanctions against Iraq led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children.
While Rauf does not endorse violence, he professes to understand its roots; that it is the reaction of oppressed people to authoritarian regimes supported by the U.S. He has declined to describe Hamas as a terrorist organization.
Rauf has been heading the Cordoba Initiative which professes to create “an atmosphere of interfaith tolerance and respect.” […] they should note also that the name of the proposed mosque-community center is Cordoba House… from the Cordoba, Spain mosque built on the ruins of a Catholic church after the Muslim conquest of Spain in the 8th Century. The Christians reconquered Spain in 1492 and Islam lost “al Andalus.”
This is one of the “humiliations” that ardent Muslims want to avenge.…the name “Cordoba House” stands for “conquest” … an example of dawa in action: Islamist triumphalism.
[snip] Muslim purists, however, believe that every aspect of life is prescribed in the Koran and the hadith (the writings of and about Mohammed) which makes secular government superfluous. Militants such as al Qaida and its allies seek to eliminate these “infidel” institutions by violence. Other determined Muslims, such as the Muslim Brotherhood (founded in Egypt in 1928) choose to accomplish it by dawa — stealth.
Rauf (and others like him) hopes and works for a world that has fully adopted Islam and sharia, but wants to do so without violence. Dawa is a one-step-at-a-time process. Rauf’s State Department trip is dawa in action as is the fact the FBI hired him after 9/11 to conduct sensitivity-training sessions for its personnel[…]
(Regarding the Ground Zero Mosque) It is not a matter of religious freedom or property rights. It is a matter of appropriateness. If it is allowed to be built virtually next door to Ground Zero, it will be dawa‘s greatest triumph in the United States to date.

No Mosques At Ground Zero 
I really am at a loss to understand how those in authority in the US are welcoming this insult to the dead and bereaved.
It is not just muslims who have feelings to hurt.
Comment by Littlenan August 31, 2010 @ 8:02 pmHow about we encourage other buildings to celebrate their OWN freedom of action, and erect a shroud that blocks the view of Ground Zero from the awesome vantage-point of the upper-floor mosque in this building project? How about we totally remove the site’s value as a triumphalist shrine? Encourage the other buildings and businesses to erect a big shroud and we will see if they are still interested in that site as a mosque!

May I extend my congratulations along with an abundance of “thanks”.
Our congratulations because you are the one single entity that has created more Islamic awareness in the world then any person I can recall. More then Osama bin Laden or the Ayatollahs of Iran combined.
You and your group have created the education and opened more American eyes to the reality of Islam then any one thing has ever done before. You have showed America just how demanding, unyielding and relentless Islam can truly be. The further you continue with this push, the deeper the investigation on you and your group will proceed.
Your partner, Sharif el-Gamal, is under constant investigation about where the construction money is coming from. We are told he is in arrears in New York City taxes by $227, 570.43. Not to forget that the tax bill will go up January 1st by another $90000.00. This seems to be a more pressing need then the $150 million needed to construct the building in the first place.
We send our thanks because we, as a tolerant and forgiving people who will always help one another through times of need, clearly see how intolerant you can be. Your group has called us every conceivable name in the Islamic playbook.
No one, ABSOLUTELY no one is trampling on your Constitutional right to religious freedom and the right to construct a place to worship.
Whereas you, Imam Rauf, and your group of planners and the political supporters with the likes of Mayor Bloomberg and Speaker Pelosi, have and still continue to prevent and restrain the American people from exercising their right to speak out against your Park 51 initiative.
Politicians and the left leaning media such as CNN, MSNBC and Associated Press are being particularly diligent in condoning statements made by opposing groups led by Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer. Calling us Islamaphobes, bigots or racists will certainly not help your cause. But in fact, it will succeed in inflaming more of the American public to speak out opposing it.
You and your Mosque organizers and your political cronies are continuously and rigorously trying to silence our Constitutional Right of Freedom of Speech.
The ability to speak freely, whether for something or someone or against something or someone, is a thorn in the side of Islam. Islam cannot fathom the idea of Americans or people of any free country criticizing and stating their concerns of what they truly care about.
We will not implore….
We will not beg….
We are through asking….
Now we are saying, it is time to reconsider the placement of that mosque.
IT IS TIME TO CHANGE THE LOCATION TO A MORE SUITABLE AREA
IT IS TIME TO STOP YOUR DEMANDS AND YOUR HATRED RHETORIC AND PUT AN END TO THIS INCESSANT SELFISHNESS.
IT IS TIME TO STOP THE INTOLERANCE ISLAM IS SO WELL KNOWN FOR.
YOU KEEP TELLING THE WORLD THAT ISLAM IS PEACE AND LOVE AND CHARITABLE….THEN SHOW IT TO US NOW!!
Show your concern for the America that you say you love. Show it to the families that lost their loved ones on 9/11. Show us now!!
Always remember, Imam Rauf, buildings can be replaced. Those lives lost on 9/11 cannot.

Comment by Infidel Task Force September 1, 2010 @ 5:40 pmWell I’ve heard that in Sevilla (Spain) they wanted to build a Mosque but people didn’t want, so what they did; during the night they threw pig pieces (I suppose salami or something similar) to the mosque’s building ground. What happened? As the pig is something impure for the muslims, the couldn’t build a mosque where there have been pig or pig meat. Each time they changed grounds, more pig meat appeared so they couldn’t build it at last. It sounds stupid but it’s true and it looks and easy solution for me that will end with any arguing.

In the UK in the last couple of days, Americans Arthur Cunningham and Joseph Abraham have been threatened that to try to preach in a muslim area of Birmingham UK, is a “hate” crime. A hate crime to teach about the love of God in a Christian Country!!! And there are NO muslim areas in England. They are all ENGLISH areas.
This police community support officer (not a real policeman) said they were likely to be beaten up and they were warned to get out.
Now silly old me thought this was still a free Country and anybody could preach Christianity in this Christian Country (rapidly becoming muslim). Anyway, I thought beating people up was a crime.
The Community Support Officer (who have uniforms very like the police), is a muslim and has been very much involved in the recent setting up of an Midlands Muslim Police Association.
What IS this capitulation to islam. We do not want to be all led into Dhimmitude.
Just watch your backs US.
